FOS™
Fructoologosaccarides (FOS)
What is FOS?
Fructoologosaccarides (FOS) are essentially food for the beneficial bacteria which allow them to grow and proliferate. FOS can be found in some foods but not in sufficient quantities to affect the body.
How does FOS Work?
FOS is sugars that cannot be digested by the human body. This allows FOS to pass through the Gastro Intestinal Tract without being touched where they can feed the beneficial bacteria in the large intestine, specifically Bifidobacteria, and starves the unfriendly bacteria. This allows the system to have more of the beneficial bacteria than the unfriendly bacteria.
What is FOS Used For?
FOS has a variety of benefits including:
Relieve Constipation
Stop Antibiotic associated diarrhea
Leaky Gut Syndrome
Chrohn’s Disease
Is FOS a Probiotic?
FOS is not a Probiotic but instead a Prebiotic. Probiotics attach to the gastrointestinal wall while Prebiotics support the Probiotics.
How much FOS should I take?
As a dietary supplement take 2 capsules daily with food.
